This hand-illustrated cookbook was a Christmas gift to my son in 2020. When he turned 13 we asked him to cook dinner for the family once a week. After a year of weekly meals he had settled into these favorites that I collected and illustrated for this gift.

From tacos with his signature slaw, to chicken or bean enchiladas to Teriyaki chicken to nachos and very simple ramen with salmon, to pasta Carbonara and Bolognese these are his takes on classics.

This first year of him cooking was not without its challenges–we’ve had plenty of fights and attitude–but little by little his confidence has grown, he obviously has fun doing it and loves getting to choose what to cook!
